Mark Ghosn [gos-on] is a writer, monologist and spoken word artist. Ghosn is best known for creating the hit show Ampalaya Monologues.
Born in Beirut to a Filipina mother and Lebanese father, Mark started performing monologues and spoken word poetry in 2015 when he created the show Ampalaya Monologues.
Ampalaya Monologues is a collection of monologues about several individuals who've tasted the different kinds of bitterness that love has to offer. The show has been recreated into different versions (LoveWins, BitterSweet, SingleBells, etc.) and is now known as one of the most successful episodic plays in the country.
Since 2015, Mark has performed in the country's prime venues like The PETA Theater, MOA Concert Ground and The Cultural Center of the Philippines. His work has been viewed online over a million times and featured in media outlets ranging from CNN to GMA to ABS-CBN. His first book, a collection of Ampalaya Monologues, was published in 2017 and will be turned into a full-length film to be shown in cinemas nationwide in 2018.
Mark is also the first spoken word artist to enter the Philippines Top 50 Playlist on Spotify with his EP COLOVE, a collection of spoken word and music collaborations.
Mark lives in the southern metro manila. When he is not performing, he is busy as the playwright and President of Teatro Monologista, he also writes for film, TV and entertainment events.
